PCI Spam Filtering

Message Rules for use with the PCI SPAM filters

The following information sheet gives you information on creating message rules to deal with SPAM messages that are marked by the PCI spam filters. This sheet assumes that you have previously turned on these spam options. If you have not turned these on then please go to the PCI Spam Information page to enable those options.

Outlook Express

1. In the Outlook Express main window got to the "Tools" menu and click on "Message Rules" and then click on "Mail."

2. Click on the "New" button to create a new rule.

3. In pane 1 place a check next to "Where the subject line contains specific words".

4. In pane 2 place a check next to "Delete it from server."

5. In pane 3 click on the words "Contains Specific Words."

6. In the top box type in [SPAM] and hit the "Add" button.

7. Click on "OK."

8. In pane 4 type in "PCI Spam Filter."

9. Click the "OK" button.

10. Make sure their is a check next to the spam filter we just created and hit the "OK" button.

The spam filter is now setup so that you will not have to download the message the PCI filtering system marks as spam for you. If you find that this is catching mail that it shouldn't or is not catching mail that it should please look at the PCI Spam Information Page to change the level of the SPAM filter.

Netscape 7.x

1. In the Netscape Mail window got to "Tools" and down the "Message Filters."

2. Click on the "New" button.

3. In the "Filter Name" type PCI Spam Filter.

4. Place the dot next to "Match any of the following."

5. In the rule windows type in [SPAM]. See the example of this window.

6. Place a check next to "Delete the message."

7. Make sure there is a check next to the rule we just created and close the Message Filter page.

The spam filter is now setup so that it will automatically delete messages that the PCI filtering system marks as spam for you. If you find that this is catching mail that it shouldn't or is not catching mail that it should please look at the PCI Spam Information Page to change the level of the SPAM filter.

PCI will is not liable for your use of the SPAM filtering system. This program is turned on and configurable be you and as such any liability for message that are deleted or lost in result to your use of this system falls upon you.
